What came first, the chicken or the egg?
Students will learn about the life cycles of plants and animals during their experience at
VT Ranch. Topics will include the different types of chickens, why and who lays the eggs,
and the path to hatching and birth.
Goats, and Sheep, and Pigs, OH MY!
Meet our barnyard animals and learn fun facts about our furry friends then have a chance
to enjoy our petting zoo.
From waste to gold!
We will explore the journey of food and natural waste as it turns into fertile soil through
the composting process. Students will view our worms hard at work as they help in the
process of decomposition and more.
Planting the Seeds to the Future
Let’s crack an egg and turn it into the planter for your own egg-shell garden. Students will
utilize the fresh composted soil and will plant their own seeds which they will take home
We will take a safe and informative hike at VT Ranch where we will learn about the local
flora and a fauna as well as invasive species of plants. We may also observe the bees hard
at work in the pollination process.
